Busy Girl

So, I'm a bit rubbish with this whole blogging thing at the moment. But as always I do have a fairly valid reason to be.

Well, I'm a student and a radio presenter as well as the occasional on screen presenter - and so I have a very busy lifestyle. I eat sushi on the weekend, after long days of shopping. And I like to spend my Sundays reading classic novels, after going for a walk by the river. Then week days, well...that's one big busy schedule that tends to merge in to one (most months). So, as you can see I'm very busy.

I really wish that most of that was true, the first sentence is true. But the rest isn't. I've never tried sushi, and never really intend on doing so. I don't like shopping in shops on a Saturday because it's always too busy esp. since I live in London - I prefer online shopping. And Sunday's aren't spent reading novels, they are spent doing homework that's due in for Monday. So I am busy but not that kind of busy, my schedule and lifestyle is completely different to that (at the moment). I think that would be my ideal of being 'busy' but in actual fact I do much more than that.

ANYWAYZZZZ:

Ed She Ran!

Heyaaaa,

I really dont know why I put "Ed She Ran!" as the title for this post, because to my awareness no one ran! :/

BUTTT...

...yesterday I saw Ed Sheeran in the Hammersmith Apollo (cinema turn't gig space - and when I told my mate this, she was like "I don't care").

Anyway, he was amazing (two words I use often "Anyway" and "amazing"). He really got the crowd going, and some times his gig was calm, and other times they were pretty mad and intense! At one point he got everyone to put there arms round the person they came with and to sway with them. This was fun, my only issue is that my mate is about 5cm tall and I'm about a metre tall (if we could convert it in to cm stuff - I really should stop teasing her about her height, really she cant do anything to change it - therefore I declare (right here, right now) on blogspot that I love her shortness, and I only tease her out of love! Amen).

Ed Sheeran was really good live, and to be honest I kinda knew what to expect because I saw him at the Hackney Weekender, but the HUGEEE stage didnt do him much justice because his music is quite raw.

He used the loopy thing a couple of times, and got the audience to be quiet, and it felt really nice - it felt like I was in a personal recording session with Ed, and just watching him do his thing.

As always, I did my "Woooooo!" thing, and I always aimed to catch the quiet points in the gig (obviously except the times he told everyone to be quiet).

In addition to Ed, he also had some fantastic support acts. One of which, was amazing in terms of vocals and sounded like a one man band Mumford and Son. He's name was Passenger and I guess you could check him out. I think he has a EP coming out soon (or its just come out, I cant remember which).

ANYWAY, last night was pretty epic, I got home mega late, and still had homework to do. I thought, lemme go to bed now, and in the morning I will see a more motivated, young individual who isn't so tired!

Disclosure - The Face EP

Hello I'm back,

I thought I'd feed my blog readers with some more great music!
As many of you may (or may not) know, I am a huge fan of Disclosure. I found out about them some time last year, and ever since I have been hooked!

Anyway they have just released a new EP. On a random note: Doesn't the word "released" make it sound like an animal? Maybe it just me, but you could just imagine that like an animal, the EP being released from the simple knowledge of a couple of people, and then reaching the masses (with a beastly attitude)!

You can find this NEW EP (released just ONE DAY ago - roarrrr), on soundcloud (click on the word soundcloud to be directed directly to the wonderful, amazing, fantastic EP; that is 'The Face').

My favourite song on the EP is 'Control ft Ria Ritchie' - I don't know if that's because I had heard the others way before, and I had rinsed them!

Let me just give you a little background knowledge of the boys:

Called a "Dance pop duo" by the Guardian, so they obvious consist of two people. Those two people are brothers and they go by the name of Guy and Howard Lawrence.
I'm going to use a word that I have been using all week (because of MIC - Made In Chelsea), but they seem like a gregarious duo. They are both very young, both in age and on the scene.

To find out more about the band, go on to their facebook, twitter and soundcloud to follow any updates.

Jesse Boykins III - New music

Hello,

I'm back from the dark, winter cave (of my room). Revision is now over, and I don't have anymore exams! So, its happy dayz for me!
Now I suppose its about getting ready for YR13. Like the age 13, it sounds like such a big jump from YR12.

Anyway, enough about school, I have some NEW (yes that's right, NEW) music for my fellow bloggers and blog readers.

Have any of you heard of Jesse Boykins III? He's from Chicago, however, he spent most of his childhood growing up between towns and countries. Anyway, now he is a great explorer soul music, and he blew away the London fan in the Jazz Cafe with his song 'B4 the Night is Thru'.

Its just amazing!

He's voice is just so soulful, I think that it will bring a new kind of sound back. In addition to his beautiful sounding voice, he looks like he just has so much fun on stage. You could just imagine the atmosphere in his gigs (just completely electrified).

Anyway, I will leave you with a few links to do some exploring yourself:

Jesse Boykins III - Website

I believe you can download a free album - but don't quote me on it!

Jesse Boykins III - Soundcloud

On his soundcloud, you can find loads of remixes of 'B4 the night is thru' - and some other amazing songs!

Jesse Boykins III - Twitter

And obviously you can follow his updates.

Hope you have fun!

OFFLINE.

Heya Y'all,

I thought I'd leave another post, because currently I have nothing other than revision to do, and its the biggest bore of my life (currently).
So, I say I haven't got anything to do, as right now, if I knew my passwords for some of the social networking sites I have an account to, I would be on it right now. But I have to defeat my obsession with social networking, as I'm not even networking! I'm just stalking people.
I'm planning on going on a twitter and facebook fast. I expect that I'll lose followers on twitter. And well my mates will probably abandon me for the rest of my life (because I'm not on facebook).

I know I keep saying this, but I actually need to change my background and shizzle on this blog. It just looks so boring! Any ideas?
I would say tweet me at @Erica_Mckoy but I currently wont be able to see those tweets so it would be pointless.

I'm going to post some new and current music soon if I find the time.

YOLO

I'm back diddy back...

Hey, I’m back.

(A proper weird title I have there)

I haven’t really written a piece for my blog in a while. I’ve just been mad busy recently.
I think I need to do some reviewing of programmes. I’ve been reviewing old and new music since December. I think it’s time to change things up a little. So, if there are any TV programmes in England – that you think I should review then, tweet me at @Eskimo_Kiss123. And I’ll get round to doing that soon.

What does everyone think about this whole Cinnamon Challenge craze – that is starting up again.
Some people are bonkers! Mixing cinnamon with hot chilli pepper, and all sorts of crazy madness – something I don’t think I would be particularly willing to do. If I find any more amazing ones (like Glo Zell – who is a great youtuber, who has some wacky videos) then I’ll post them.

Remember to find me and tweet me; I promise I will reply!
Always follow (I follow back, just ask), and smile.
Hope you have a great day.

Goonish Behaviour

Eskimoz,

Goonish behaviour?
Huh?
Say What?
Pardon?

Well, I have something to confess - and this confession that Im about to make will make me sound like the largest douche ever!
So, a couple of months ago I heard a James Blake song played on BBCR1 and I was like, OMG James Blake (however I had James Blunt pictured in my mind) has come out with new material...
Not actually thinking any of it through, but then I looked up James Blake (as you do when you want to find out more about a band - naturally).
And I had a mini shock. I was like 'woahhh'. 'He's gone through some transformation!'
However, yesterday...I realised that I had clearly got them mixed up!
To be fair it can easily be done. They both have the names - James. And there surnames both begin with B...So dont hate haters! :P
I mean its goonish behaviour like that that doesnt get me far! :P

Remember to follow me on Twitter @Eskimo_Kiss123
I follow back, if you ask! Thanks x

I plan on making 2012 a better year...

Hey Eskimoz,
I hope youve been enjoying the music!

I plan on making 2012 a better year, starting off by not creating so many awkward moments...

I mean it doesnt get any worse then someone walking away when Im trying to talk to them. TBH the conversation was pretty shit (it was about the Theatre) but still...I was left thinking what a twat...and then I thought, maybe Im the twat. Haven't had a full conversation since, so worried it'll end the same way :/

Oh, and another awkward moment this year...was pretty awkward, and I kinda want to delete them from facebook...and then maybe add them again in the new year. Why? Because it simply doesn't get any more awkward than leaving a funny/weird message on someone's wall - tagging a mutual friend...
and receiving no reply :/ (I mean at least 2 people were aware of me leaving that message, and I didnt get a reply)
AWKS.
Me being me, I thought way too deep in to it...
But simply because Im embarrassed I dont wanna check the post. But to be completely honest, when I was last went on their wall (30mins ago) I was pretty sure I didnt see the post that I left there! Major AWKS.

So I really do want less of those!
These were all really recent as well! But Ive had my fair share of awkward moments in 2011. I'm sure of that!

Remember to follow me @Eskimo_Kiss123
-Tell me about your awkward moments.

Pop Culture - Music

Blog Reader,
Interested in reading more? No! Of course you’re not!
I have indeed started using twitter again (so get following @Eskimo_Kiss123 ).

So my question to you is…
What do you do if the man next to you on the bus starts looking at porn?
Is it not awkward?

So, as this is a pop culture blog – for cool people – obviously I have found some “new” music! And music that would qualify for cool music of the week. Because Cool is a cool word!
Well I say “new” but it’s not really new, because it’s been heard before me.

  • ·                  Maverick Sabre - I Need (Zed Bias Remix)
  •
  • ·                  Niki and the Dove - The Drummer (Fake Blood Remix)
  •
  • ·                  Ed Sheeran – Lego House
  •
  • ·                  Ed Sheeran – UNI
  •

I’ll post some of the youtube videos – so you can have a listen. Tell me what you think by either commenting! Or just tweet me! (And follow me!)
Follow me on twitter at my NEW TWITTER NAME: @Eskimo_Kiss123 or find me on Tumblr: http://aneskimokiss.tumblr.com/ As you can probably tell I like Eskimo Kisses – or if you really know me well then you’ll know it’s an amazing song by The Kooks.

Glasses...

Dear Blog Reader,

As I promised last week, I would blog about this spectacular invention on my eyes. Yes, glasses.
I only need to wear them, when I'm reading loads or when I'm on the laptop/computer for a long time.
But here they areee!

Anyway, apart from getting glasses, I have found an awesome band. I was listening to Radio One as you do on a Sunday, Grimmy played Body Language!
I instantly fell in love! They have some really awesome music. I don't really know how to describe there sound! But its awesome. They are a band from Brooklyn. And they are pretty young. The band consists of four musically talented wonderfuls! And I recommend you give them a listen! They are just too awesome.

Thanks, I'll be blogging soon! :D
